Massive Fundings

In Sunnyvale, California, Antora Energy, a seven-year-old startup, has developed thermal batteries that store renewable electricity as heat in solid carbon blocks. The aim of this development is to enhance the accessibility of renewable energy for industrial use. The company recently raised $150 million in a Series B funding round led by Decarbonization Partners. Other participants in the funding round include Emerson Collective, GS Futures, and The Nature Conservancy

Figure AI, a two-year-old startup based in Sunnyvale, California, is reportedly raising close to $675 million at a $2 billion pre-money valuation. Its mission is to build a humanoid robot that can carry out dangerous tasks unsuitable for humans. The investment round included notable investors such as OpenAI, Nvidia, Intel, Sa`1msung, and Amazon, with an additional $100 million from Jeff Bezos. 

Frontier Medicines, a biotech startup founded six years ago with operations in Boston and South San Francisco, has raised $80 million in a Series C funding round. The company's platform leverages a unique combination of chemistry, protein research, and machine learning to identify new treatments for specific genetic conditions. Previous investors, Deerfield Management and Droia Ventures, co-led the financing round. Other notable participants include Galapagos, DCVC Bio, MPM Capital, and RA Capital Management. Napier AI, a London-based startup founded nine years ago, has raised $57.1 million in a recent funding round. Their software harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to analyze transactions and consumer behavior, enabling businesses to identify suspicious activities and remain compliant with money laundering regulations. Crestline Investors led the investment deal.

Big-But-Not-Crazy-Big Fundings

Carewell, a Miami-based startup specializing in direct-to-consumer caregiving supplies, has secured $24.7 million in a Series B funding round. The round was led by MBF Healthcare, with participation from Primetime Partners, Nextview, Florida Opportunity Fund, and Anchor. Existing investors Sageview Capital and Headline also joined the round. 

Crisp, a New York-based startup founded eight years ago, has secured an additional $20 million in a Series B extension round. The company offers tools for consumer goods businesses to gain insights into sales, inventory, and supply chain operations by aggregating and analyzing data from various retail sources. Previous investors Blue Cloud Ventures, FirstMark Capital, Spring Capital, and** 3L Capital** participated in the funding round.

Elve, a four-year-old startup based in Davis, CA, has secured $15 million in funding in a Series A round. The startup specializes in the production of millimeter wave amplifiers for wireless networks. TomEnterprise Private AB, Green Sands Equity, Yu Galaxy, Cambium Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures are among the investors involved in the funding round.

Beijing-based autonomous driving technology startup, Haomo.ai  has secured $14 million in a Series B funding round, led by Chengdu Wufa Private Equity Fund Management. The company's total funding now exceeds $200 million.

Smaller Fundings

Based in Stockholm, Apica, a 19-year-old company, has raised $6 million in funding led by Riverside Acceleration Capital. Existing investors, including Industrifonden, SEB Foundation, Oxx, and LEO Capital, also contributed to the round. The company offers software and services to businesses for monitoring and efficient management of their software applications and IT infrastructure. Additionally, Apica acquired CIrconus, a startup specializing in telemetry data. 

Axle Health, a startup headquartered in Los Angeles, recently acquired $4.2 million in a seed-funding round. The company, which offers tools for scheduling, communication, and logistics related to in-home care, has been in operation for four years. Pear VC and Trac VC collaborated to lead the investment.

Finpilot, a Seattle-based startup that leverages AI to help financial analysts generate investment research reports, has recently secured $4 million in a seed funding round led by Madrona Venture Group. Helius, a two-year-old Toronto-based startup, has secured $9.5 million in a Series A funding round. The platform allows developers to create and manage blockchain apps on the Solana network. The round was led by Foundation Capital, with additional contributions from Reciprocal Ventures, 6th Man Ventures, Chapter One, and Propel.

hellohive, a four-year-old New York-based startup, has secured $3.4 million in Series A funding to support its mission of connecting diverse students and recent graduates with companies committed to diversity. The funding round was led by The Tisch Family, with contributions from The Pearl Fund and Hillside Ventures. TechCrunch has more details on this development.

Hohm Energy, a South African startup providing solar energy solutions for homes, has secured $8 million in seed funding. The round was co-led by E3 Capital and 4DX Ventures, with participation from Breega, E4E Africa, Musha Ventures, Climate Capital Ventures, TO.org, Tekton Ventures, and Sunu Capital. With this investment, Hohm Energy aims to accelerate its mission of facilitating the transition to solar power and reducing energy costs for households in the country.

Spektr, a Copenhagen-based startup founded a year ago, has secured $5.4 million in funding. The company automates and streamlines compliance tasks, focusing on risk management and monitoring. The funding round was led by notable investors such as Northzone, Danish PreSeed Ventures, and Seedcamp.
